DHL

"Optimas made the whole process very simple - even under challenging conditions. For a large proportion of our employees, academic qualifications can seem daunting but Optimas put everyone at ease. The trainers were sensitive to our business needs and had the knowledge and content to equip our staff with the necessary qualifications."

Lucy Cutts,  Human Resources Officer

Objective:
Lucy is responsible for the training of a large number of employees at DHL. She wanted to formalise the skills of 30 employees and give them a recognised qualification that would give them both confidence and credibility. After meeting a number of training solutions providers, she decided to work with Optimas.

Solution:
Optimas deployed an experienced trainer to work onsite observing and evaluating the workforce. The trainer unobtrusively guided the staff through the process of attaining Level 2 NVQs in Team Leadership and Business Administration. In November 2008, with the threat of redundancy looming, Optimas drafting in more trainers to fast track the process and ensure all participants completed the course.

Outcome:
The qualifications helped some of the employees secure other positions within DHL when the redundancies came into effect in February 2009. They also boosted the CVs of others and aided them in finding alternative roles elsewhere.

Miserton General Practice

“It’s great for patients to know that we have completed the courses and gives them reassurance at what can be difficult times. Optimas made the whole process so simple and made a great effort to fit around our hectic schedules as well as negotiating the confidentiality that comes with working with the NHS. We also now work better together as a team, thanks to the Optimas training.”

Elaine Morris,  Assistant Practice Manager

Objective:
Elaine works in a very customer-orientated organisation and wanted her qualifications to reflect her abilities both for her own satisfaction but also to reassure the patients. She needed a training solution that would help her demonstrate her skills but could also be undertaken in the sensitive environment of a busy general practice.

Solution:
Elaine was approached by Optimas who proposed an on-site evaluation by one of their experienced trainers. The trainer spent time watching how Elaine worked with patients and other members of her team, as well as assessing her administrative skills. By identifying the elements of the course Elaine needed to achieve, the trainer made it easy for Elaine to complete her qualifications.

Outcome:
Elaine now holds a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. Her success has been matched by several other members of the practice who have undertaken the Optimas training and achieved similar results in both Business Administration and Customer Service.

Winteringham School

“Optimas made everything so easy; they were fantastic from start to finish. The trainer was lovely and ensured everything fitted around my own schedule. She combined professionalism with approachability and an extensive knowledge of the subject. I now have more credibility in the workplace and know my CV now demonstrates what I’m capable of.”

Helen Holmes,  Secretary

Objective:
Helen wanted to validate her existing skills as well as bolstering her business administration credentials. She wanted a training solution that could fit around her busy schedule while making it easy to achieve the NVQ qualifications she wanted.

Solution:
Helen worked with Optimas on Business Administration, Literacy and Numeracy. An Optimas trainer spent time observing Helen in the workplace and guiding her through the checklist of elements she needed to demonstrate ability in. The trainer also supplied a number of worksheets for Helen to complete in her own time.

Results:
Helen now holds Level 1 NVQs in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as a Level 2 in Business Administration. As a result of the effectiveness of the Optimas approach, she is considering extending her qualifications further still. A number of other staff at the school have also begun working with Optimas to gain vital qualifications.
